BT Storytellers launch
I was very lucky to be chosen as one of 15 Storytellers who attended the launch of the campaign at St. Pancras Station.
We were joined by Seb Coe, Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, and the legendary Daley Thompson.
The other Storytellers were lovely, and it was good to get to know each other and discuss the different ways in which we will be documenting the build-up to the Games.
After a morning of photos, and interviews for tv and radio, we had a delicious lunch, then set off for the Olympic Park, where we enjoyed a coach tour with our fantastic guide Jerome Frost, Head of Design for the Olympic Delivery Authority. The highlights for me were seeing the Velodrome, or ‘Pringle’ which is rightly favourite to win the RBA Stirling Prize, and being allowed to get off the coach inside the Olympic Stadium, and walk down what will be the 100 metres track. Some of the Storytellers lined up at the start but were banned from running more than a few strides for Health & Safety reasons!
It was over too quickly and we were soon heading home. It was a brilliant day, and a great start to my year as a Storyteller.
